Tying Up Lose Ends

Snowed in and finally started and finished some projects I have been dreaming about and mentally planning for a long time.

Also got a little present from Grandma the other day. She used to be a big sewer and quilter but hasn't been feeling up to it for a while. She dropped of a few boxes of goodies that I was able to dig through and I found some AWESOME treasures: Roll after roll after roll and bag after bag of LACE!! At least 20 different styles! It's a pinterest girl's dream come true. I literally sqealed and jumped up and down. Oh the projects I could do...

For a few years we have had a massive elephant painting we named "Fred" in our aparments. Jason got it for free at a garage sale -- it was too good to pass up.  I was getting tired of "Fred" but loved his amazing huge frame so I held onto him for a while. Thank goodness! Last month I had an epiphany thanks to pinterest. (I tried to find the pin but I could not. If I do find it later, I will add a link here.)

I took out the old canvas with "Fred" and nailed in some hooks for the wires.

I strung up some silver, plyable wire I found in the home improvement section at Target.

I gathered together my favorite photos of Jason and I, mixed in some flowers, sunsets, and mountains then I printed black and white photos for free at Walgreens during a sale. I found some silver clips in the office supplies section at Target.

My jewelry has always been a problem. It's everywhere and nowhere. I tried boxes and different ways of organizing it..but nothing stuck. Then I got another idea from pinterest. I know, I know...I'm an addict.

Got the frames from garage sales or Goodwill for about 50 cents each. Found some fabric at a thrift store. I had some unused corkboard in my craft room and cut it to fit the frames. Wrapped the corkboard with fabric, grabbed a few pins and voila! Jewelry organization!

Pretty and practical.

I have this amazing wooden bowl that I found at an estate sale and spend late nights sanding and finishing - earring holder!

I used a small vase for my headbands.

And I also finished up a shadowbox frame by putting rounded glass from Lake Superior and a fortune "Your dearesr dream will come true"

Love the feeling of relief and satisfaction when projects are completed...and actually turn out how I imagined.
