Oh, What Fun!

I find it hard to believe that winter is upon us when there is still green grass outside my window. I put my mittens on this morning as I left the apartment and my hands got hot. Does anyone else think that this is too weird. A little creepy?

Hymnal Wreath
Our apartment is starting to look very festive and I am loving it. We've been married for 7 years have only had one Christmas with a full sized tree. And we weren't even home for that Christmas anyway! This year we found a great skinny tree that fits perfectly between furniture so the floor is still open in this little nest of ours.

I am beyond excited to wake up here and open presents together. To drink hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music together. To spend the morning in our Christmas pajamas and remember all the things we are thankful for this Christmas season.

I hope we can carry on a tradition of my childhood: Christmas Movie Marathon. My sister and I would pile our blankets and pillows in the living room and stay up as late as possible watching every Christmas movie we had. Especially The Muppet Christmas Carol. We continued this tradition with our little brother Alex. I hope to keep it going with my own children, when they arrive.

Finally being able to stay in the same place during the holidays and not being in the process of packing, unpacking or moving makes me grateful for the calm and peace. Which is exactly what I need.

  2. I want you to know I still read every post, I just do it from my phone, where I can't comment. But I am following your foster care journey. The highs, lows, and mundane. Btw, I love your Christmas decorations :)
